About

Barbara Athanassiadis is an internationally published travel writer whose work explores the intersection of travel, culture, history, art and refined hospitality.

Born in Athens, she studied Business Administration before pursuing French Literature and nineteenth-century French art at the Sorbonne in Paris. Her lifelong fascination with art, history and the world’s great cultures has shaped a distinctive approach to travel writing, combining personal experience with a deep appreciation of the character and spirit of each place.

Her writing and books take readers across Greece, Italy, France, Egypt, India and Turkey, among other destinations, with a particular interest in historic cities, architecture, exceptional hotels, cultural heritage and the art of travelling slowly and meaningfully.

Author of books published in English, Italian and Greek, Barbara continues to write, travel and share her experiences through her website, books, photography and international lectures.

For Barbara, travel is not simply about discovering a destination, but about entering into its culture, history and soul.
